Not so much time ago (Svetlana Zakharova @ Dedicate Magazine) in a little post about Svetlana I used a metaphor to describe my reaction to what Svetlana became; now it made me think of a pretty recent Arcade Fire’s song

“So can you understand? / Why I want a daughter while I’m still young / I wanna hold her hand / And show her some beauty / Before this damage is done

But if it’s too much to ask, it’s too much to ask / Then send me a son”

and… well, here briefly the point: I had some expectations about Svetlana, that lately have been someway disappointed. No, not about the “how”, so not about the quality of this model, but if we talk about the “what”, I’m honest enough to say yes, that’s how things are.

I expected something else actually, and… yes, it’s like when you have a baby, the first thing, the most important is absolutely health, and from this point, I think Svetlana is “an healthy model”, I still believe a lot in her potentialities; just… you know, I wanted a girl, and it’s a boy.

“But if it was too much to ask, too much to ask, then send me” a talented model – and from this point, here she is (even if with some limits – I’m going to write about them below). It’s maybe like a space flight, it’s a great success “how far”, but first and most important thing is “where”.

Is Svetlana flying far away?

Yes, I guess yes, she’s developing pretty well, and I’m happy and pretty satisfied; but maybe the point is… well, not “where” I expected. So, where exactly? I have no idea.

It’s maybe better like… it’s like an abstract painting. Here it is, it’s taking form, I pretty like it, but… well, the title: it’s in a foreign language, and I can’t get what it is.

But I like it, sure I do; like? I love it so much…

especially because of what I think it’s going to happen. ‘cause yes, about Svetlana, I have to say it’s still mainly about development (and the marvelous mix she still is and she’s going to be for sure).

Talking about what I’m not so much convinced about, well… generally her structure and definition; both body and… well, a quick glance at her neck shows pretty well what I mean.

But I’m extremely confident, ‘cause I’m sure she’s going to develop and hone. Even if… ok, I saw her on a runway just once,

and the thing honestly pretty disappointed me – I mean, generally. But you know, maybe for this 1.74 80/59/87 model runway isn’t best place to show her qualities, simply that, now for sure.

So yes, I have to say I expected Svetlana to be a little more “on the cute and pure sweetness side”, but ok, I love her so much the same. It’s going to be about refine a little more, but absolutely without having to change completely. I mean, even talking about her body structure, ok, to improve, but I pretty like it. And so her confidence, her never look awkward in front of a camera, her surprising femininity, her mysterious and kind of cryptic beauty, her soft, sullen and gloomy expressivity. The classy intriguing woman she’s going to have the chance to be too. An unexpected fierceness? why not.

I can’t find a title for this abstract painting, but you know what? who cares! It’s simply wonderful, marvelous and stunning, in its indecipherability too, and search for a translation would be a total waste of time, ‘cause a title is just a title. And a model with outstanding potentialities like Svetlana… well, she’s one of a kind; I still have doubts, but they’re less than the certainties about the amazing feelings she gives me for sure.
