This is maybe the first show with such a “deep roster” I write about this season. I have to say Prada is usually one of my fav shows, generally and talking about models especially. Btw I decided to choose not so many models, so please don’t waste your time writing me “There isn’t this model, there isn’t that one neither” (for the record: I never do complete lists). And… a particular show in its own way. I have to say last collection had a strong personality more marked and somehow “overflowing”, this is not the case, but… well, for the record, I love so much this spring / summer collection, months ago a lot wrote or said bad things, but I guess these days if you look around, you can recognize Prada in shop windows and in the streets in a sec – and absolutely for good reasons. Btw this is not best place possible to write about it.
So, yes, this collection is made by little recurring particulars, but in fact the most important thing is: Prada always has the chance to express its (better, her: of Miuccia) identity reinventing itself, and it’s one of the few maisons that does it this successfully way. Btw, you see, next post is going to be about Valentino, and even if the show is quite “easy”, defining the best model will be a multi-leveled question; here considerations are a little more… you know, multi-faceted and somehow more “on the personal side”. I’ve never believed it is possible to think of a “Prada girl”, and I never will, or at least from some points of view, so considerations are different than in other shows. Talking about this particular one and this season, well, it’s so hard to define a Most Valuable Model that, you know, in fact there isn’t a right or wrong option, and considerations have to be quite “extemporary” I guess. So, here we are.
++ DAPHNE GROENEVELD / LINDSEY WIXSON

“Prada girl” doesn’t exist as I wrote, but models with great attitude, outstanding personality and peculiar like few around are generally very welcome at Prada. I lost any hope to describe the amazing model Daphne is, so I won’t waste time trying now; same, even if personally without the same unreachable enthusiasm, about Lindsey. These are two models… what’s really surprising is: how can they be that much peculiar and interesting, and at the same time reliable and solid like few around? I have no idea, but here another good opportunity to appreciate the thing.
++ CHARLOTTE NOLTING
vogue.it
I waited so much this season, she finally had the chance to walk a good number of shows, she did it so convincingly, conclusion: I’m so, so, so glad. Here a pretty good demonstration of what I mean, she looks great, she walked perfectly and showed a solid and personally very interesting attitude. I love her like few new faces around.
++ EMILY BAKER / HAILEY CLAUSON
vogue.it
Emily and Hailey are in my mind the same kind of model, even if I have to admit Emily seems to be of another level, at least at the moment. Hailey should develop a little talking about attitude, on the runway and off as well, ‘cause well, I love her so much, but I’m sure potentialities are expressed in a very little part in her case. Emily, well, I wrote so much about her these weeks, so I don’t know, what else to say?, I guess nothing. She’s great, this show is simply the umpteenth demonstration of the outstanding model she is, perfect outfit to highlight the mature, austere and intriguing femininity she can express, so, Emily at her best – but the astonishing thing is Emily practically always appears at her best, in any occasion, and I can’t think of so many models doing it this way. And well, better underline how young they both are, and how the thing is practically impossible to get – the mature and unique femininity they express is amazing.

These days I simply had no time, but there are good chances I’m going to do a visual recap of her Fashion Weeks for sure. Until then… nothing, these weeks gave me more questions than answers, so not so much to say actually, I simply have no idea of what to think – even if honestly this and Valentino (next post) are maybe two of the shows that can create less problems from that point of view…
+ AZUL CALETTI / CATERINA RAVAGLIA
vogue.it
Here they are, two models for a reason or another I appreciate a lot (even if I have to say Caterina especially), and who here look great. I love so much Azul’s skin, ad this particular outfit highlighted the thing for the best; same, perfect outfit, about Caterina, who imo this season finally had space she deserved, so considering what she showed and, you know, quality of the shows she had the chance to walk, hope this season is going to be a good turning point for her career.
ANAIS POULIOT
vogue.it
I don’t like her so much, what I have to admit is, well, for the kind of femininity she can express for the best, she’s got the chance to be relevant and interesting. Here I simply… I simply can’t like her so much, just that.
++ JOSEPHINE SKRIVER / SVEA KLOOSTERHOF
vogue.it
Two models I liked “on alternate days”, but who objectively deserve a special mention for what they showed during last Fashion Weeks. Btw here I liked them both.
KATE KING / BETHANY TERRY
vogue.it
Kate King as well deserves a mention for the much she walked this season, even if honestly I am not a huge fan (so, few doubts about “how” in fact)… btw here with Bethany: two models I noticed because of their walk, and not for good reasons in fact. Kate came right after Nimue Smit, Lindsey Wixson and Charlotte Nolting, and don’t notice her somehow stiff walk (arms especially) was practically impossible; about Bethany, simply way too hesitant.
COLINNE MICHAELIS
vogue.it
Here impeccable, but every time I can I underline it: talking about Colinne, I believe a lot in development. So I really think the best is yet to come, and this early version of Colinne is quite raw after all. Hope she will have the chance to develop the way her noteworthy potentialities should deserve.
+ VALERIJA KELAVA / NIMUE SMIT
+ TATI COTLIAR / MARIQUE SCHIMMEL
+ SIGRID AGREN / MARIACARLA BOSCONO
vogue.it
Well, here some models I like (even if, honest: I’m not exactly a fan of Mariacarla), and who looked flawless here. Sigrid and Nimue are two certainties, and about Marique and Valerija… “the Flying Dutchgirl” (hehe Marique… even if I admit this nickname is originally about another model, for the much Marique walked this season is appropriate as well) walked a lot and always convincingly, here a perfect example; Valerija… I find her so interesting, in my mind she’s got the same place of a Caterina Ravaglia (even if from some points of view even more interesting at the moment), and I still have the feeling of a very underrated model. Ok, she doesn’t have the pure and unequivocal beauty other models have, but I love so much her maturity, her solid presence, really, hope she’s going to show her qualities a little more in the future.
