If there is in New York a show I always wait with positive optimism it’s this one. Talking about models as well it always gives me a “everything in its right place” impression I appreciate for sure, and this season totally confirmed it.
Btw if this show had a fil rouge it’s been “lightness”, totally: makeup, hair, and obviously the collection as well; to see models walk in this show and all those clothes move and literally dance in such a fabulous way has been a marvelous pleasure. Marvelous pleasures made of geometric prints, patchworks, fur details, conflicting surfaces, discreet transparences – the FW1213 expression of the measured and highly-wearable elegance which represent the brand’s DNA.
++ JUJU IVANYUK

If I decided to mention her as one of my fav models of this show reasons are two: she is (one of my fav models of this show), pretty simple, and quite important too I want to underline the “Juju moment” hasn’t passed at all – and a moment in fact isn’t and never has been. I mean, she had some kind of sudden boom right a year ago, but considering her outstanding qualities the point isn’t what happened in that season, but what didn’t (personally: very surprising) before.
And btw, back to the first reason, I can think of her as a perfect model for this collection but in a wider sense BCBG Max Azria identity. She’s a mature and “reassuring” beauty, simply impeccable, and… well, just one of the best options possible for great part of the shows – and specifically the best for this.
++ JOSEFIEN RODERMANS (opened)

I can’t find reasons to really love her, but that said… maybe I do?, ‘cause after all this season started the same way the last one ended: with me admiring, esteeming and somehow adoring this Dutch model more than ever. The point is I can’t think of her as one of my fav models, Dutch models neither (I could name 10 15 maybe 20 names before her), but at the same time on the runway she’s such a strong factor. Her beauty isn’t exactly unique (wait, in this particular show the thing is somehow a welcome factor), but her strong and confident attitude and catwalk presence (she doesn’t “own the runway”, she maybe hasn’t the kind of body and presence to do it, but at the same time she looks so cool and collected – and I love it) with a certain “je ne sais quoi” make a unique magic happen. Talking about in print works I actually can’t feel this same enthusiasm, so I’m glad Fashion Weeks are back – and this show is a very good demonstration of why in fact.
Plus: the perfect model to embody that “lightness” real fil rouge of the whole collection…
++ KATI NESCHER

What I love of Kati… I mean, one of the things I love of Kati comes out in this show with disarming power: she’ such a unique model with unforgettable face features and a powerful and astonishing charm, but at the same time she can walk a show like this being convincing, and most important one of the best models possible in her own and unique way. I mean, if I think of this show I think of a show made for models like Juju or Josefien, Jacquelin or Sara too if you want (and if you want you’re right after all), but Kati can use her innate, natural elegance and outstanding appeal to stand out without resulting some kind of foreign body – great.

A model I “historically” like a lot, one of the first I really liked in fact. Just like Kati has such a natural and classy elegance (even if maybe a little more hidden), that I appreciated a lot to see here.
+ ELLA KANDYBA

+ KATRYN KRUGER

vogue.it
Right today I had the chance to mention Ella, and if that show, Helmut Lang, maybe wasn’t the best opportunity possible to show her best qualities, this totally is. And once I take the opportunity to say her eyebrows will probably be one of the makeup artists’ top 10 unsolved mysteries of the season (hehe nooo, I like her so much and I’m writing so many good things about her that I feel free to make this little jokey annotation… after all especially about how I hated so far to see her ultra-photoshopped because of that in fact), I hope these first shows will only be a good appetizer for what her season will be. Not an outstanding model, but certainly a very good option (as I said, see: Merilin Perli) you can most of the times rely on. Btw the way her walk gently moved her hair was kind of hypnotic and such a marvelous vision.
Talking about Katryn: a model with a quite “standard” (not a bad consideration) beauty who will hardly disappoint and who here is just perfect. I’ve been simply glad to see her having the opportunity to walk this show, ‘cause there’s somehow Katryn at her best.
LARA MULLEN

JACQUELYN JABLONSKI / SARA BLOMQVIST

DAGA ZIOBER / ZUZANNA BIJOCH

vogue.it
If Lara still can’t totally convince me, and for the kind of beauty she embodies this somehow had too be her show, the last four names gives me a welcome opportunity (‘cause I liked them all, even if not exactly my fav kind of models) to underline that “everything in its right place” I started the post with, and how a cast, this one specifically, can be coherent and perfectly articulated. Btw for the record “coherence” isn’t generally and a priori a must, but for a show like this one (and a lot of others in fact) absolutely is…
