Yep, time for the first post of these “Oranje Dagen” (hehe or something like that)!, and in fact I have to say it will be somehow the shortest. There are a good number of reasons why, but… well, first of all here the images, that I’d like to propose all together and let you enjoy in one breath:

Robin is one of those models in the “It’s a long time I follow her and I simply can’t believe I haven’t done a post about her so far!” chapter, I’m glad ‘cause lately there have been a good number of news from her, all positive and in a way or another interesting, but for some reasons I decided to show her for the first time with these shots. Why have they been welcome?

First of all colors… I mean, you’re right, first of all the bright and lively presence of the quirky characters and creatures by Kid Acne, then the pastel colors both of the styling and good part of the settings, everything proposes a quite graceful, sometimes adorably childish but always delicate vision – yes, of course, Robin too. So talking about good things: she’s a whisper. She naturally embodies and transmits all the adjectives you could find right between “adorable” and “lovely”, and what I literally adore is the fact she does it without a really “cuter than cute” beauty, or at least not the way other models are; I mean, I can’t think of another Dutch (hehe in these “Oranje Days” I will only mention Dutch models…) young model like Julia van Os when I think of Robin, I don’t talk of that kind of cryptic, multifaceted and enigmatic beauty, but she certainly doesn’t represent a “cuter than cute” immediate, somehow trite or hackneyed standard – and btw just to be clear the thing is absolutely very positive, remarkable and noteworthy.

That said: bad things. Or better, what I like less… or better: these “bad things” can’t be in the “what I like less” chapter simply ‘cause they’re about something that can be easily overcome. Briefly, whatever I saw so far (and we talk about a good number of shots after all, quite different and by different photographers… but for the record not some digitals where she looks simply great and outstandingly beautiful like I’ve never seen her before) gave me a strong feeling of “work in progress”, proposing a model at the moment with a good number of limits (usually eyes are a good litmus paper, and with Robin more than ever) and definitely in need of development. But that doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing, especially ‘cause she’s very young and right behind those limits there’s a very interesting model with an outstanding potential, and for whom time will certainly represent a welcome factor (from many points of view).

So yep, we’ll see what happens (hehe for the record tonight too, with another Robin, van Persie…), but something like these shots, just like a very good part of what she had the chance to do so far, is certainly enjoyable as is, and from another point of view very interesting because of the untapped potential they intrinsically express.
