Actually today I had half a mind to post about another Dutch model, but… again?, right after a week only with Dutch models?, ok, maybe it’s time to take a little break from Netherlands and go somewhere else. In fact another country with plenty of interesting models I simply love: Russia (and an agency in particular, Avant, where you can find the wonderful Irina Nikolaeva and Nastya Kusakina, or Svetlana Zakharova, or Stasya Izyumova among others – yep, I don’t know why but I thought of Stasya too…).

Btw this gives me a good opportunity to say… if Facebook / Twitter generally represent a successful way to follow models both the way idolatrous fans or I mean it, talking about Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian and so on in the “former hammer & sickle European bloc” (but especially those nations) models if you want to check for everyday shots and utterly frivolous updates, or the way I do be well-informed about recent works / interesting new faces, VKontakte definitely is the best answer possible. The Russian social network gives a lot of interesting updates, many models and photographers are there, and… nothing, I underline it today ‘cause that’s exactly how I had the chance to know about these shots.

with some backstage shots you won’t find anything else in the magazine. Right, for the record: ok Google Translate, ok that I asked a couple of Russian girls to translate the title and they told me the same thing, but… I don’t know, I decided to leave the original Russian title. Nothing, just for the record…

All that said – two things. First of all, I’ve been happy to find some other shots and backstage images:

Then: Milana. A model I like a lot, and I’d certainly expect to see her a little more often doing things which will highlight her interesting and remarkable potential a little more. These shots have certainly been welcome, she looks fabulously great and she demonstrates how playfully jaunty or drop dead seducing (and elegantly sophisticated) her attitude and presence in front of a camera can be (from this point of view, thanks, thanks a lot for the backstage pics). An amazing case of a solid beauty who can be obviously reliable and at the same time capable of embodying and playing so many different, multifaceted and diversified parts, with an outstanding, delicate, fierce, subtle or-whatever-it-takes and always convincing attitude. In fact the few limits she has at the moment are imo especially about the “runway chapter”, but if we exclude those (wait: definitely resolvable, and anyway in some shows she already gave some good cues), all I can say is… well, I already did a post about her a couple of months ago (@ Vestal Magazine #9 by Martina Scorcucchi), I don’t want to repeat some same things, so: I like Milana, sometimes I adore her, I’ve followed with interest whatever she did so far and I’ll certainly do with the same confident optimism. ‘cause she absolutely deserves it, my confident optimism, and the one of whoever will believe in her and who won’t certainly be disappointed by this amazing Russian model.
