Charlotte Free @ Elle Girl Japan August 2012 by Jason Lee Parry – She’s Free, and Freedom tastes of reality

I have to say Charlotte Free represents one of those cases where… well, very briefly: I can’t say I personally like the model a lot, but she’s objectively interesting and absolutely noteworthy. So no, I can’t say I’m her #1 fan, or even in the top 10, or 50, or… well, you got what I mean!, nonetheless as I said I find her very interesting and noteworthy, and here specifically you’re going to find a lot of positive things about her.

So, where to start from? First of all where these shots are from, Elle Girl Japan:

I just love Asiatic market, I find it so interesting and variegated, maybe one day I’ll write something about it (hehe don’t worry, not today). Btw in this particular form it’s simply the best place possible for a model like Charlotte to unbridle some wildly kooky and eccentrically jaunty sides of her which somehow represent her trademark.

(I simply love her slightly open mouth…)

Right… then? Ok, since I somehow by contract have to write it at least once, let’s do it and get it over with: “pink hair”. hehe duh… no, jokes aside, yep, you’re right, one way or another pink hair is a factor, and even if I find stupid to identify a model only because of such a thing (wait, I could say the same for example for Patricia van der Vliet and her now black hair), well, it obviously is an undeniable trademark, and… well, from some points of view if the thing works Charlotte too should rightly exploit it, the way in fact she seems to do.

Btw that said – why do I consider her noteworthy and interesting? Well, if we exclude little but marvelous things I simply adore, so her body structure and her skin, great part of the reasons have to do with those wildly kooky and eccentrically jaunty sides of her I had the chance to mention before, in a different (totally different in fact, this skater girl is something else) way she somehow explores neighbor alternative territories where reign and rule models like Julia Nobis or Dempsey Stewart, and Charlotte does it very well. Then?

(the last shot, a good opportunity to underline once again how I love her skin, somehow tells us something about some little limits as well…)

I already had the chance to write a post about it, and generally mention the thing here and there, but I find simply stupid things like “real beauty”, “real women”, and so on; and at the same time I have the chance to underline quite often how anything which has any vague ambition to be seducing, captivating, tempting and appealing necessarily in my opinion has first of all to suggest a presence: I really can’t find captivating plastic skins, empty shapes and hackneyed visions of sexy seduction.

From that point of view, so talking about pictures which are not only a mere image and suggest the presence of a real person who in a “when” and in a “where” was in front of a camera, well, Charlotte Free is simply astonishing. There’s not so much to say about such a thing, it’s about something you have or not, and she definitely has it, so from this point of view you have an immediate explanation of why she can be so captivating after all without an objectively astonishing body (even if wait, as I said I personally adore her body structure…) or coquettish attitude like other models may have. So yep, I find this “Freedom”, “Free-dom” from Free (her surname) and the suffix –dom the way you mean it in words like “kingdom” or “freedom” itself, so with the “quality, realm, state, jurisdiction” meaning and from the Old English world, well, I find this “Freedom” tastes of reality like few others (yep, right: obviously the title is from The Who song “I’m free”, in the amazing “Tommy” album), and that certainly makes of it a realm, and talking about Charlotte a model, of incomparable and somehow unique intriguing charm. And I repeat, to that add those unconventional wildly kooky and eccentrically jaunty sides of her, et voilà, jackpot…
